Our 11+ Grammar school-style English Exam Papers are designed by our Exam Entrance Specialists, who have had years of experience in the 11+ Grammar School admissions process. Each
paper is unique and designed to reflect the calibre of questions set by
top-tier Grammar schools in the GL Assessment entrance exam format. An answer sheet and answers are included.
This Paper Includes:
- Reading Comprehension: Students are assessed on their ability to understand and interpret passages of text. Questions may involve identifying main ideas, making inferences, understanding vocabulary in context, and analysing the author's purpose.
- Grammar and Punctuation: Testing students' knowledge of grammar rules, sentence structure, verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, parts of speech, and proper use of punctuation marks.
- Vocabulary: Students may be assessed on their understanding of word meanings, synonyms, antonyms, analogies, and context clues.
- Spelling: This section evaluates students' spelling skills, including commonly misspelt words, homophones, and irregular spellings.
- Composition and Writing Skills: Students will be asked to write a short essay, a descriptive paragraph, a letter, or a story. They are assessed on their ability to organize their thoughts, use appropriate vocabulary and grammar, and express their ideas clearly and coherently.

This is a higher-difficulty paper designed to help students gain
entrance to the most selective schools in the country. It is recommended
for students who are confident in tackling the medium-difficulty
papers, and have a solid understanding of all aspects of the independent
school entrance examination format, and has scored highly in other
English, Maths, and Reasoning papers. We would recommend downloading
these papers if your child is looking to gain entrance into, but not
limited to, the following schools mentioned below.
